Who We Are
Young Democrats of Westmoreland County (YDWC) is a community of young people working to build a stronger, more engaged, and more inclusive future for Westmoreland County.
We bring young Democrats together to learn about the issues affecting our communities, participate in civic life, support progressive candidates and causes, and develop the skills and relationships needed to become the next generation of leaders.
But our work doesn't stop on Election Day. We believe young people should have a voice in their communities every day of the year, from the ballot box to the community meeting, and from local government to the halls of the state legislature.
What We Do
Through social events, educational programs, volunteer opportunities, organizing, and community engagement, YDWC creates opportunities for young people to:
Learn about government, policy, and the issues affecting our communities.
Connect with other young people who want to make a difference.
Organize around candidates, causes, and issues.
Develop the skills needed to become effective community and political leaders.
Engage with elected officials and hold leaders accountable.
Meet Our Leadership
The people helping build the future of YDWC.
Our officers help guide the organization, create opportunities for members to get involved, and build a stronger community of young leaders across Westmoreland County.
